Overview

This award recognises a developer for excellence in the development of an exemplary masterplanned community, that is designed for self-sufficiency and provide high standards of design, diversity and housing choice.

The project must be large enough to sufficiently demonstrate that a sense of community has been created within the site. For example: Project design has facilitated a sense of community within the project area, even acting as a place attracting people outside of the project area to form part of the community.

Important Information

  • The winner of this award may have the opportunity to represent Victoria in the UDIA National Awards.
  • Organisation must maintain a financial UDIA Victoria membership throughout the nomination process, judging, and the Awards for Excellence Ceremony
  • It is required that your project must be substantially developed by the time of judging or at least a component or stage of the project is substantially developed
  • If you have a residential component to your project, the judging panel will need to be given access to the interior of at least one dwelling

Completion Criteria for UDIA Judging

To ensure fair assessment, entrants must provide sufficient evidence demonstrating substantial project completion.

Single-stage projects must have at least 40% completed and either sold or available for sale.

Multi-stage projects must have at least one full stage completed and sold or available for sale, with additional stages under development.

Projects in this category should be essentially complete.
