Media Release Begins
UDIA Victoria released its Strategic Priories 2024-25 paper today which outlines the twelve-policy priorities for the Barwon Region Geelong Chapter to reinvigorate development and provide certainty for the Greater Geelong community.
UDIA Victoria CEO Linda Allison said “Geelong’s planning direction has reached a stalemate – we aim to reinvigorate this discussion and create positive change in our region. By releasing the industry’s priorities in the Barwon region, we have set tangible outcomes that if achieved will create more homes for the Greater Geelong community”.
The paper identifies twelve key strategic priories encompassing planning, transport, design, funding and city growth. UDIA Victoria has sought to provide a clear blueprint for improving the existing system and welcomes Government, advocacy and private sector engagement to achieve these goals over the new year.
“UDIA is the voice for regional development, and we are committed to its continued growth. This paper is one way we can provide clear achievable outcomes that will jumpstart growth as more and more people choose Geelong to call home,” said Ms Allison.
