Overview
UDIA Victoria Social and Community Infrastructure Award recognises best practice in interdisciplinary design, development or renewal, and activation, of people centered places. This Award extends beyond the built form, to celebrate the integration of the natural and built environment and to foster greater human interaction.
Entries for this award category could include places with a focus on the public realm – civic/community buildings and surrounding spaces, open space, local streets and civic boulevards, town centres, and place-making ranging from the delivery of major infrastructure through to intimate scale projects.
Entries can be submitted by a developer, community group, Local Government or State Government, delivery agencies, authorities and consultants or a coalition of these entities.
Important Information
- The winner of this award may have the opportunity to represent Victoria in the UDIA National Awards in the Social & Community Infrastructure Category.
- Organisation must maintain a financial UDIA Victoria membership throughout the nomination process, judging, and the Awards for Excellence Ceremony
- It is required that your project must be substantially developed by the time of judging or at least a component or stage of the project is substantially developed.
- If you have a residential component to your project, the judging panel will need to be given access to the interior of at least one dwelling.
Completion Criteria for UDIA Judging
To ensure fair assessment, entrants must provide sufficient evidence demonstrating substantial project completion.
Multi-stage projects must have at least one full stage completed and sold or available for sale, with additional stages under development.
Single-stage projects must have at least 40% completed and either sold or available for sale.
Projects in this category should be essentially complete.
