National update: Federal Budget to fast-track Australia’s economic recovery.

The Commonwealth Government has released a Federal Budget designed to fast track Australia’s recovery from the economic effects of COVID-19 featuring tax cuts, infrastructure investment and importantly, new stimulus measures for the housing sector.

UDIA National is particularly pleased to see initiatives consistent with our advocacy priorities – including revisions to the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme designed to boost new housing construction.

Melbourne Water Retail Agencies (MRWA) Land Development Auditing Arrangements Update.

In response to the latest COVID guidelines, the MRWA has implemented aligned interim auditing arrangements so that land development works can continue in line with the current coronavirus construction sector restrictions.

Cutting red tape for small construction businesses.

Small businesses in the construction sector stand to benefit from tens of millions of dollars in savings through the signing of the Victorian Government’s Small Business Regulatory Engagement Charter.

Minister for Small Business Jaala Pulford said that the charter would slash red tape and provide clarity for businesses on what they could expect from regulators – and what they need to do to meet their regulatory obligations.
