Land Use Victoria delivers infrastructure boost

On the 7th of March, the Andrews Labor Government announced that its infrastructure program is set to receive a boost from the commercialisation of the land titles and registry functions of Land Use Victoria.

As announced by Tim Pallas, an Expression of Interest towards the finalisation of the transaction is set to be issued. The proceeds from the transaction will create thousands of jobs and will be invested towards infrastructure.

The transaction will still ensure that services such as subdivisions, application and survey, Surveyor-General Victoria, land information and spatial services, government land advice and coordination, and the Victorian Government land monitor, will all remain in public hands.

Described as a “win for Victorians’’ by Tim Pallas, the private operator will be subjected to key performance targets and financial penalties if the set standards are not met. A market process is set to be carried by the Government in 2018 to certify the credibility of transactions.
