IV issues final advice on Automated and Zero Emissions Vehicles

Infrastructure Victoria (IV) has released its final advice on automated and zero emissions vehicles infrastructure. The report includes 17 recommendations to government.

According to the report, significant investment will be required to fully maximise the potential of Automated and Zero Emissions Vehicles, for mobile network upgrades, improved line markings, and energy network upgrades.

Actions recommended to start preparing Victoria for the future include updating public transport services by integrating on-demand and mobility services, sharing transport data in real time and allowing flexibility in the planning regime to make it easier for people to charge their electric vehicles.

The report is accompanied by a short video, street profiles demonstrating how streetscapes may change under two different scenarios. The Evidence Base Report provides further detail behind the recommendations.
