Join us for a lively panel discussion with four women who are currently serving on a board, who will share their experiences about what it’s like being a board member, and how it has contributed to their personal and professional development as leaders.


Have you ever wondered what it's like to be on a board?
This event is targeted at anyone who has wondered what its like to be on a board, has considered applying for board position or who has never even considered board membership as an option before.

Topics covered include:

  • Why join a board?
  • Why is diversity on boards so important?
  • How do you become a board member?
  • What skills can you develop through board membership?
  • How can board membership complement your career?


Speakers include:

  • Kim McAliney - Wyndham City Councillor and Chair of the Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust
  • Jill Lim - Development Director at Frasers and member of the UDIA board
  • Julie Katz - Senior Consultant at Tract and member of the Mayflower board
  • Bridie Allanadale - Senior Policy Advisor at Melbourne City Council and member of the St Kilda Community Housing Board


Moderated by champion of women leaders in business, Michelle Redfern - Owner of Advancing Women in Business + Sport
