Managing WHS Risk

THE COURSE

This course teaches you the skills and knowledge required to facilitate the development and use of WHS risk management tools, to conduct work health and safety (WHS) risk management processes and to contribute to the systematic management of work health and safety (WHS) risk within an organisation.

The course is ideal for individuals who work in a range of WHS roles across all industries and / or provide specialised knowledge, systematic approaches and guidance to a range of personnel. It applies to individuals with responsibility for risk management; who manage WHS risk based on their organisation’s WHS management system (WHSMS), WHS information system (WHSIS) and risk-management approach.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
  • Access information and data to contribute to the systematic management of WHS risk
  • Access information and data on WHS hazards and risk management
  • Contribute to effective consultation and participation during all stages of risk management
  • Contribute to establishing the context for risk management
  • Contribute to risk assessment and risk treatment
  • Contribute to monitoring, reviewing and recording risk management process

PATHWAY OPPORTUNITIES

This course comprises of three accredited units (BSBWHS503 - Contribute to the systematic management of WHS risk, BSBWHS504 - Manage WHS risks, and BSBWHS509 - Facilitate the development and use of WHS risk management tools) that pathway into a Diploma of WHS.
