What is it?
Following a hugely successful UDIA Women in Property Mentoring Pilot Program in 2017, we are back for 2018 and it is going to be bigger and better! 

This program is designed for women in the property industry, connecting groups of likeminded women and a mentor to explore a range of topics through guided sessions.  Participants will have the opportunity to broaden their industry network as well as learn new skills and gain knowledge to help them progress as leaders in our industry. 

The UDIA Women in Property committee have sought out a group of exemplary senior women from within the industry to volunteer as our mentors for the program. Each with outstanding skills and experience to share.

The real POWER is in the format of peer or circle mentoring, where participants benefit not just from the knowledge of the mentor but from 6-8 other women at a similar level from within the industry.

Who is it for?
The target market of the Mentoring Circle Program are female UDIA members and female non-members, across all disciplines and backgrounds, with at least 2 years of experience in the property industry, who have progressed from ‘entry level’ to lower and middle management.

What can you expect?
The broad objective of the program is to increase personal empowerment, confidence, knowledge and skills of women in the industry, in order to break down the barriers of participation and engagement.  More specifically, the objectives are to:
  • To create connections for women in the industry, building relationships and broader networks
  • To support women to feel empowered and to find their voice
  • To build the confidence of women in the property industry
  • To develop career development and leadership skills
  • To ensure that senior leaders in the industry are connected to developing women
  • To share knowledge between mentors and mentees as well as between the mentee cohort
  • To develop assertiveness skills, and to manage the ‘double bind’ of assertive women being seen as aggressive.

Each circle will select from a range of comprehensive program topics and learning tools to tailor the 6 month program to group objectives. In short, a great opportunity to meet some new friends and connections, share your experiences and explore pathways and techniques to power your career. 

How long does it take?
The program will run 6 x 90-minute group sessions over 6 months. It will commence in early May and conclude in October. 

How much does it cost?
To ensure that this program is accessible to as many members as possible we’ve worked to be able to deliver the program at a cost of just $250 per participant.

Date, time and location of sessions will be set by each mentoring circle at the first meeting.

The program will begin with an informal launch event on the evening of 8 May 2018 at the Emerald Peacock.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be advised in writing at least 7 working days prior to the event date. A refund will not be granted if a registrant fails to attend or cancels within 6 working days prior to the event. Substitutions can be made at any time without penalty.
