What is it?

An exciting new program for women in the property industry, connecting groups of likeminded women and a mentor to explore a range of topics through guided sessions utilising the ‘Lean In’ program.

Participants will have the opportunity to broaden their industry network as well as learn new skills and gain knowledge to help them progress as leaders in our industry.

The UDIA Women in Property committee have sought out a group of exemplary senior women from within the industry to volunteer as our inaugural mentors for the program. Each with outstanding skills and experience to share.

The real POWER is in the format of peer or circle mentoring, where participants benefit not just from the knowledge of the mentor but from 8 - 10 other women at a similar level from within the industry.

Please note this program is capped at 40 people, so we encourage you to secure your place early to avoid disappointment.

Who is it for?

The target market of the Mentoring Circle Program are female UDIA members and female non-members, across all disciplines and backgrounds, with at least 3 to 4+ years of experience in the property industry, who have progressed from ‘entry level’ to lower and middle management.

What can you expect?

The broad objective of the program is to increase personal empowerment, confidence, knowledge and skills of women in the industry, in order to break down the barriers of participation and engagement.

More specifically, the objectives are to:
- Create connections for women in the industry, building relationships & broader networks
- Support women to feel empowered and to find their voice
- Build the confidence of women in the property industry
- Develop career development and leadership skills
- Ensure that senior leaders in the industry are connected to developing women
- Share knowledge between mentors and mentees as well as between the mentee cohort
- Develop assertiveness skills, and to manage the ‘double bind’ of assertive women being seen as aggressive

In short, the UDIA Power Circles program offers a great opportunity to meet some new friends and connections, share your experiences and explore pathways and techniques to power your career.

How long does it take?

The inaugural program will run on a compressed schedule of 4 x half days over 4 months running from August to November 2017 with 2 x networking/ support events in July and November for all participants hosted during the program.

Click here for further topic information.

How much does it cost?

To ensure that this program is accessible to as many members as possible we’ve worked to be able to deliver the inaugural program at a cost of just $250 per participant.  Further, participants will also have access to a 10% discount on other UDIA industry events for the remainder of 2017 (with exception of the footy lunch and awards lunch).

Venue:

Date, time and location of sessions will be set by each mentoring circle at the first meeting. The program will begin with an informal launch event on the evening of Wednesday, 26th July, venue TBC.

“UDIA Victoria takes its role as an industry leader very seriously, especially when it comes to bolstering the confidence and influence of our industry’s women.  A key core value of our organisation is to create meaningful change and fuel true gender diversity across the property industry. One powerful method is mentoring and leadership guidance for those who are looking for career progression – that’s where the Power Circles program comes in.”  Danni Addison, CEO, UDIA (VIC)
