    We present a unique opportunity to work alongside Australia's most prominent developers of new communities to support Council's aspirations for building Australia's most liveable city.
    In this role, you will provide leadership to the development of engineering activities through expert assessments and advice, workflow management, stakeholder engagement, the attainment of service levels and continuous improvement.
    The position involves the management development engineering projects and achieving the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding between Council and the developers in growth areas. This will involve working collaboratively, demonstrating outcome led decision making, fostering a culture of shared problem solving, and driving innovation.
    Some of the key responsibilities include:

    • Project management and acting as the Council delegate for development engineering approvals, providing advice for growth area planning applications to meet agreed service standards;
    • Adopting a stakeholder management approach to matters under consideration to best meet Council's customer service objectives and achieve collaborative outcomes;
    • Providing expert oversight of the checking and approval of Engineering Plans; Environmental Management Plans; and assessment of traffic, drainage and subdivision referrals for planning and development applications;
    • Managing the day-to-day work priorities within the Development Engineering team to meet departmental and corporate objectives.

    About You
    You will have a degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering and will be proficient in growth area development assessments and approvals. You will demonstrate leadership and positive influence over others that contribute to the service, adopting a stakeholder management and collaborative approach to the task. You will have experience in leading and mentoring other team members, and be able to demonstrate strong communication and leadership, to foster an environment of approachability, mentorship and personal growth within the team.
